R‑Evo Smart® CR combines functions for cataract and vitreoretinal surgery within a compact modular design. It is suited to operating rooms seeking to optimise space while retaining the ability to perform phacoemulsification, anterior vitrectomy, posterior vitrectomy and combined procedures on a single platform.
Agile Fluidics™
Selectable flow-based or vacuum-based aspiration control
The system integrates both Peristaltic and Venturi pumps. The Peristaltic pump supports deliberate aspiration-flow control, while the Venturi pump generates vacuum directly for procedures requiring responsive material holding and aspiration. Combined with active irrigation and Dynamic IOP Control, Agile Fluidics™ supports intraocular pressure management and anterior chamber stability.
Minimal Stress™
Feedback-controlled ultrasound energy management
Minimal Stress™ controls energy delivery to the piezoelectric crystals according to the resistance encountered by the phaco tip. It helps maintain consistency between the programmed and actual tip stroke within the eye. The approximately 40 kHz phaco handpiece supports Continuous, Pulse and Burst emission modes for different lens-removal requirements.
TWEDGE™ Dual-Blade Vitrectomy
Supporting continuous aspiration flow during vitreoretinal surgery
R‑Evo Smart® CR is compatible with TWEDGE™ dual-blade vitrectomy probes. The system provides cutting rates from 120 to 10,000 cuts per minute with TWEDGE™ technology for both anterior and posterior vitrectomy. The cutter design supports consistent aspiration flow and controlled operation within the treatment area.
Two Independent LED Light Sources
Enhanced visualisation during posterior segment surgery
The system incorporates two independent LED light sources free from harmful UV and IR emissions. Each source provides selectable colour filters designed to enhance contrast and ocular tissue visualisation during vitreoretinal procedures. Compatible illumination options include spot, wide-angle and chandelier probes, depending on the selected configuration.
Intuitive User Interface
A 15-inch touchscreen and programmable footpedal
The high-visibility 15-inch touchscreen provides access to system parameters and surgical settings. The footpedal can be programmed for single-linear or dual-linear control, enabling surgeons to manage multiple functions during surgery. Programmable voice and audio feedback further support interaction between the surgeon and the platform.
One Cassette for Multiple Procedures
Simplifying transitions between phaco, retinal and combined surgery
The EasySys cassette can be used for phaco, retinal and combined procedures, helping simplify system preparation and workflow transitions. R‑Evo Smart® CR also supports fluid-air exchange, silicone oil injection and removal, endo- and exodiathermy, and pars plana phacoemulsification for essential posterior-segment applications.
