Product Description
The SCHWIND AMARIS 500E is designed specifically for eye care facilities with stable refractive surgery volumes that still demand good treatment quality. With a 500 Hz repetition rate and 5D eye tracking, it handles routine surgeries well without placing pressure on the initial investment budget.
Core Technologies
500 Hz Repetition Rate
Suitable for centers with moderate patient volume. Treatment time is not overly long, maintaining accuracy and limiting corneal dehydration. For experienced surgeons, the machine still feels responsive and smooth.
5D Eye Tracking
Monitors and compensates for eye movements in 5 dimensions: X, Y, Z, rolling, and cyclotorsion. While less complex than 7D or 6D versions, it consistently delivers necessary accuracy for the vast majority of refractive cases including moderate astigmatism.
0.54 mm Laser Spot
Like other AMARIS models, the 500E uses this ultra-small spot size. Post-operative corneal surface is quite smooth, vision recovery is stable, and prolonged dry eye issues are less common compared to older systems.
SmartSurfACE (Touchless TransPRK)
Valuable feature even on the 500E model. Surgeons can perform flap-less, suction-free procedures for patients with thin corneas or those preferring less invasive approach. Greater safety for specific cases.
SCHWIND CAM Software
Fully supported by SCHWIND CAM treatment planning software. Main modules: ORK-CAM (standard refraction), PTK-CAM (corneal pathologies), and PresbyMAX (presbyopia, optional), allowing expansion of indications.
Key Features
ITEC (Intelligent Thermal Effect Control)
Controls thermal effects during laser firing, limiting heat buildup on cornea. For cases requiring many pulses, reduces thermal tissue damage and minimizes patient discomfort from heat.
TAM (Treatment Assistant Module)
Provides step-by-step guidance, helping new users become proficient faster and minimizing errors in the workflow.
Automatic Treatment Recording
Suitable for facilities with training needs or those wishing to store surgical records for evaluation and experience sharing.
MEDNET Connectivity
Synchronizes patient data with other SCHWIND diagnostic devices, facilitating centralized information management and quick retrieval.
Interface and Operation
Simple and Compact
Interface is simple without excessive complex options. Surgeons can quickly set up parameters for routine cases. Compact size ideal for ORs with modest floor space. Laser arm remains flexibly articulating for easy patient positioning.
Investment Value
Affordable Investment
Reasonable initial investment compared to higher-frequency models, ideal for facilities just starting refractive surgery or with moderate patient volume.
Core AMARIS Technologies
Retains core technologies like ultra-small spot laser, SmartSurfACE, and SCHWIND CAM software, ensuring treatment quality is not significantly compromised.
Full Method Support
Fully supports LASIK, TransPRK, and PTK methods, addressing diverse patient needs.
Space-Saving Design
Compact design saves OR space and simplifies installation and maintenance.
